LEARN THE BATTLEFIELD

STOOT may look simple when you first start playing, but surviving for longer periods requires more than simply pointing your ship at the nearest target and firing. Space is constantly changing around you. Asteroids move through the battlefield, enemies can approach from different directions and destroyed objects can create new threats.

The most important skill is awareness. Keep watching the area around your ship instead of focusing on only one enemy. A safe path can become dangerous within seconds when a large asteroid is destroyed or when several smaller pieces appear.

PAY ATTENTION TO SPLITTING SPACE ROCKS

One of the most important mechanics in STOOT is the way large space rocks can break apart. Destroying a large asteroid does not necessarily mean that the danger is gone. The rock can split into smaller pieces, creating several new objects that continue moving through the battlefield.

This means that destroying a large asteroid while it is close to your ship can sometimes make your immediate situation more dangerous. Before firing, look at the space around the asteroid and make sure you have room to react to the smaller pieces that may appear.

A useful technique is to attack large rocks while keeping your ship moving. Avoid staying directly in front of an asteroid after firing. Destroy it, change your position and prepare for the smaller fragments that follow.

Another useful strategy is to avoid creating several new fragments in the same crowded area when you are already surrounded. Sometimes it is better to move toward an open part of the battlefield first and then continue attacking.

KEEP MOVING

Standing still is one of the easiest ways to become an easy target. Even when there is no obvious enemy close to you, an asteroid can enter your path unexpectedly.

Try to maintain controlled movement rather than constantly changing direction without a plan. Move toward open space and avoid trapping your ship between multiple objects.

If several threats are approaching from one side, moving toward the opposite side can give you valuable reaction time. The goal is not simply to move faster. The goal is to keep enough open space around your ship to react to new threats.

WATCH YOUR POSITION

Your position can be just as important as your aim. Shooting an enemy successfully does not help much if your ship is moving directly into another threat.

Before engaging a target, quickly check the nearby area. Look for asteroids, smaller fragments and other enemies. Try to attack from a position where you have somewhere to move afterward.

Think of every attack as having two parts: the shot itself and the escape route after the shot.

USE POWER-UPS AT THE RIGHT TIME

Power-ups can completely change the situation during combat. However, collecting a power-up immediately is not always the best decision if doing so forces your ship into a dangerous position.

When you see a useful ability, first consider the path to it. If the area around the power-up is crowded, create some space before attempting to collect it.

Rapid-fire abilities can be especially useful when several targets are nearby. Defensive abilities are valuable when the battlefield becomes difficult to control. Speed improvements can help you escape crowded areas and reposition your ship.

DON'T CHASE EVERY TARGET

A high score can be tempting, but chasing every enemy can pull your ship away from a safe position.

If an enemy is moving away from you while another threat is approaching from behind, continuing the chase may be a bad trade. Sometimes the better decision is to ignore the target temporarily, reposition yourself and return when the battlefield is safer.

Good survival often comes from knowing when not to attack.

CONTROL THE CHAOS

As the number of objects on screen increases, try to avoid moving randomly. Look for patterns in the battlefield and identify the direction in which the most dangerous objects are travelling.

If one area becomes crowded, move toward a more open region. If several asteroids are moving toward the same area, avoid entering that area unless you have enough room to escape.

The battlefield can become easier to manage when you create distance between yourself and the largest group of threats.

BUILD YOUR SCORE CAREFULLY

Destroying objects increases your score and contributes to progression. However, score should not be the only thing you think about.

A player who survives longer has more opportunities to build a high score. Instead of taking unnecessary risks for one target, prioritize staying alive and maintaining control of the battlefield.

LEARN FROM EVERY RUN

Every game can teach you something. If you are destroyed by an asteroid, think about where you were positioned before the collision. If several small fragments surrounded you, consider whether destroying the large asteroid in that location was the right decision.

Over time, you will begin to recognize dangerous situations before they happen. The more attention you pay to movement, positioning, asteroid splitting and enemy behavior, the longer you can survive.

Shoot, move, observe, and prepare for what happens next.

STOOT is not only about destroying what is directly in front of you. The best players watch the entire battlefield, plan their movement and understand that every action can create a new situation.
